What Recess is

We don’t want to keep you. We want to help you find people worth keeping.

Recess Social Club is for people who already have jobs and still want a life in the city. It runs like a university with no class: a campus of people in the same stretch of life, and a week that gives you something to do with them.

College works because of proximity. After school that disappears. Recess puts it back in cities where you already live.

The week

A week can look like pilates Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, pickleball Friday, a hike Saturday morning, and mixers through the week. Fashion nights, golf, brunch, workshops, career fairs. Recess runs clubs and events. Members start clubs too — proposed in the app, approved, then posted.

The Recess app is where you see what’s on and take a spot. Capacity is real. When it’s full, you’re on a waitlist, not squeezed in.

What you belong to

You belong to it — you don’t wander in. Spots are capped. The pin goes out to members, not the internet. Founding members get the first semester free.

Later: gym access, restaurant perks, a shot at tickets as those land. Phase one is the people and the calendar. That’s the point.

Who it’s for

People who already have jobs and still want a life in the city. Companies can offer it as a benefit. Restaurants, gyms, and venues get members who actually show up.
